Meteor Shower tonight!!!!!

Gaze at the meteor shower tonight over earth........ and enjoy the spectacular event...!!

This phenomenon is known as Perseids Meteor Shower...

Though it has been happening every year during July-Aug time (it has been known for 2000 yrs now).. this is the first time i gotta know of it...

how ignorant i have been.. :D

so I jus delved into this thing a little more.. so tat i can share some good info wit u all..

The meteor shower is all about debris from the comet Swift-Tuttle.
And the shower is termed as "Perseid" coz it is believed to come from the constellation known as PERSEUS in the space.

The shower tat i m talking abt is nothing but comet dust.. tat can be as old as 1000 yrs. too... (WOOW!!!)

These meteor shower are generally visible during July-Aug every yr. .coz tat is when earth revolves and gets into the comet's orbit. [This Earth buddy is very punctual i believe.. :D]

And the heavier or the denser shower is set to be visible on earth skies on Aug 12 every yr.. which happens to be today.. (DON MISS IT TONIGHT...!!! )

So get.. set... find a flat patch of ground.. away from the city lights.. sit back.. gaze n enjoy the celestial extravaganza... (HEY ITS FREE.. no tickets.. ).. between 9-11 pm....

These meteor shower are also known as Earthgazers... since they look like a stone toppling on a pond... as they topple over the Earth's atmosphere...
